Photoshoot in mews London

Headshots in pretty London mews | Victoria Ragna

Meet Victoria, designer and owner of Victoria Ragna. I’ve photographed Victoria and her family twice before, once when she was pregnant, and secondly when her little one was one year old! This photoshoot was a quick 30 minute headshot session to give her some portraits to use for branding and marketing of her luxury scarf business. These days everyone needs a flattering headshot, whether they are a business owner or simply to use on social media.

Outdoor portraits

These shots were all taken close to Victoria’s home in Earl’s Court, SW5, simply using the London streets as a background, and the available light. I know the area really well, and suggested we took some shots in one of the pretty mews streets too, for a different feel to the white terraced streets. I always have plenty of ideas for urban street locations, as well as London parks, depending on the sort of look that suits. I particularly love portraits taken outdoors, because they have a much more natural and modern feel compared to those taken in a studio environment. The light varies so much during the day that timing is really critical, and I will often suggest that sessions take place in the morning for the cleanest, softest light.

Photoshoots in winter

It’s hard to believe these photos were taken in the February half term - we have had such warm weather recently that half term was packed with sessions (mostly family and pregnancy sessions, but a few headshots too). I am definitely making the most of the sunshine! Whilst the trees are still bare, it makes little difference for urban photoshoots - you can hardly tell whether these were taken in summer or winter. Here’s a few of my favourite shots from this shoot.
