I provide beautiful, modern baby photography in your home using soft natural window light. I pride myself in capturing timeless, natural images of you and your precious newborn so you have a wonderful record to treasure, long after the haze of those early days has passed! The flaky skin, the tiny fingernails, the pouty lips... photographs to make sure you don't forget a thing! 

My style of newborn photography

My style is very clean and simple, making the most of beautiful, natural light with minimalist posing and minimal props to create elegant, but love-filled portraits. My aim is simply to photograph the delicate beauty of your baby and the love you have for your newest family member. 

My baby photography sessions include a blend of lifestyle photography, with you and your partner holding your baby throughout your home, beautiful individual baby portraits, close-ups of baby's features and photographs of older siblings with newborns. I will also take time to photograph the sibling by him or herself; I am well-used to photographing older children who are dealing - nor not dealing! - with the arrival of a newborn in the family. I often photograph various elements of the nursery, which make a lovely addition to a fine art album. The session will be relaxed and baby-led, with plenty of time for feeding and changing.  I will bring a selection of soft neutral-coloured wraps and blankets with me, which we can use to swaddle baby (if you are happy to do so) and to place baby on for those individual baby portraits.

I am sensitive to new mums not feeling their best in these very early days - let alone being photographed! My style, whilst natural, is to gently pose you to create flattering images in the softest light. 

Will you travel to me?

All my baby photography sessions take place at my clients' homes, which suits both first-time parents who may not yet have ventured out, as well as parents juggling older siblings and a newborn! I live in Kensington, West London and travel throughout SW London and North London to reach my clients.

Portland Hospital photographer

On occasion I am commissioned for documentary newborn photography at the Portland Hospital in central London immediately following the baby's birth, or within the first 24 hours. It is incredibly special to photograph these intimate, emotional moments, of grandparents and siblings meeting baby for the first time, the first feed and the love and sheer exhaustion on parents' faces. My style is to simply document this occasion in a sensitive, unobtrusive manner with no direction from me whatsoever. 

When is the best time for newborn photography?

Generally the ideal time to photograph a newborn is when they are between 5 to 14 days old as they tend to be sleepy and curly from being in the womb, however after this stage babies can start to give great eye contact which can be lovely to photograph too! Once you've booked your session I will pencil your due date in my diary - we can fix a date for your session once baby arrives. I usually schedule my baby sessions to start around 10am in the morning during weekdays.

Prices?

The session fee is £250 and is paid for at the time of booking. This covers up to 3 hours of relaxed photography of your baby (allowing plenty of time for feeding, comforting and changing). The session fee does not include the edited digital images (which start at £300 for a collection of 10 images), or my beautiful fine-art prints or albums which can both be purchased after your session. One of my most popular fine art prints is the gorgeous 20x20" collage (priced at £295) which includes your 8 favourite images from our session.

What happens after the session?

A selection of at least 50 high-resolution images from the photo shoot will be meticulously hand-edited, retouched and placed on a private online gallery for you to view and choose your favourite images to purchase. 

Your images will be available on the gallery approximately one week after your session and will remain on the gallery for a further one week after publishing. Should you decide to purchase a selection of images, or prints of your photographs, these are provided by digital download directly to your computer straight from your gallery. Once purchased, the images are yours to print, share and duplicate as you wish for non-commercial purposes.
