Family photoshoot at the Isabella Plantation | Barnes family photographer

This family portrait photoshoot was booked all the way back in February when it was cold and impossible to imagine gorgeous sunny spring days! Now it's warm and everywhere is full of flowers and blossom. Sasha commissioned the portrait session to celebrate both Daniel's first birthday and David's 40th birthday. These are such lovely milestone birthdays to celebrate, especially having photographs of little ones at the time they turned one - and officially toddlers!

Children's portrait photography

These outdoor children's and family portraits were taken at the Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park, South West London. I suggested the Plantation as it is so full of colour and beautiful walkways through the azaleas; little did I know it was a place dear to this family's heart - and 3 year old Isabella's namesake! It's an absolutely gorgeous spot and especially perfect for families in nearby Richmond, Barnes and Wimbledon.

These were all taken early in the morning - we virtually had the place to ourselves even at the weekend. As you can see from the portraits below, we did a couple of outfit changes for everyone except David, who must have been let off the hook! I suggested a soft colour palette of spring pastels; I particularly love Isabella in her yellow dress and denim jacket; such a sweet combination (and one that works really well in terms of colour combinations).

I'd love to chat if you are thinking about your own family portrait session in the Isabella Plantation, or elsewhere in London. You can reach me right here or at heather@heatherneilson.com. In the meantime here are a few of my very favourites from this photoshoot!
